Halka Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 21, 2026 · Last updated: June 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Halka ("we", "us", or "our") handles information. Halka is an ephemeral journaling app for Android, and it is built so that there is almost nothing to collect in the first place.
The short version. Halka has no accounts and no servers of our own. What you write, draw, and breathe through is never saved or transmitted — it exists only for the moment of your session and is then gone. We don't ask for your name or email, we don't track you, and we don't sell or share your data. Purchases are handled by Google Play.
1. Who we are
Halka is created and operated by an independent, individual developer (referred to as "we", "us", or "our" in this policy) — not a company or a team. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at minhchien.df@gmail.com.
2. Information we do NOT collect
Because of how Halka is designed, we do not collect:
- Your journal content. Everything you type, sketch, or express during a session is held only in memory while you are writing and fades away as you go. It is never stored on your device or sent to us, and we have no way to read or recover it.
- Account details. Halka has no sign-up and no login. We don't collect your name, email address, phone number, or a password.
- Tracking or advertising data. The app contains no third-party advertising or analytics trackers and does not build a profile of you.
In fact, the app does not request the Internet permission, so it cannot send your activity anywhere.
3. Information stored on your device
Some preferences are saved locally on your device only and never transmitted to us — for example, your session length, timer setting, and how long words linger before fading. This information stays on your device and is removed if you uninstall the app.
4. Purchases
If you buy a premium subscription or a one-time upgrade, the purchase is processed and managed by the Google Play store under your existing Google Play account. We never see or store your payment card details. Your premium status is determined directly with Google Play on your device; we do not keep a record of who has purchased what. Please review the privacy policy of Google / Google Play to understand how they handle payment information.
5. How we use information
Because we don't collect personal information, we don't use it for profiling, advertising, or any similar purpose. Locally stored preferences are used only to remember how you like your sessions to work.
6. Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information, because we don't collect any. The only third party involved is the Google Play store, solely to process purchases you choose to make.
7. Children's privacy
Halka is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). Since we do not collect personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect it from children.
8. Your rights
Privacy laws in many regions give you rights to access or delete the personal information a company holds about you. In our case there is nothing to access or delete, because we hold no personal information about you. Any locally stored preferences are fully under your control and can be cleared by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. For purchase records, contact the Google Play store. If you have any question, you can always reach us at minhchien.df@gmail.com.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add optional features that change how information is handled. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of Halka after an update means you accept the revised policy.
10. Contact us
